Sustainability & environment
A never-ending challenge.
Being a sustainable workplace is part of our business plan. At Delphi, we see it as an approach that permeates our entire business.
Thinking sustainably means that everything we do involves competence, reflection and responsibility for our clients, employees and surroundings. As a result, our approach is to think proactively and develop our work so that we can use resources as effective as possible. No matter if it is to minimize our environmental impact or our quest to become the most attractive workplace. Our vision includes responsibility for our employees, fellow people and the environment, so that we can contribute to a better society and a better environment. This is a natural and ongoing part of our daily work.
The high priority comes naturally
We strive to provide sustainable legal advice and consultation to our clients. The goal is to increase gender equality and diversity in society through our operations, to support the vulnerable and needy through our skills and commitment, and to minimize our negative impact on our planet, climate and environment.
Our employees are vital assets, and they ensure that we can deliver top quality advice to our clients. That’s why we aim to give them the very best conditions for a work-life balance.
Delphi’s environmental work is about minimizing the negative impact on our immediate surroundings and our planet. We constantly strive to find new ways and solutions to manage our resources, as respectfully and responsibly as possible.
Creating change involves both small and big things, and all sustainability measures count. Our environmental impact as a law firm consists mainly of travel and transport, purchasing of goods and services, waste, energy use and paper consumption. Therefore, we looked closely at these areas, to see where we can make a difference.
We try to minimize travel by having meetings and training via video conferencing whenever possible. When needed, we prioritize eco-friendly transportations and go by train rather than fly, and we send urgent deliveries with environmentally friendly courier companies. We also have environmental considerations as criteria when choosing suppliers of goods and services, including hotels with ecolabel and sustainable catering companies.
In order to reduce our impact on the world’s resources, we primarily use digital communication, recycle our waste and have scaled down on profile products. When we distribute branded giveaways at events like student fairs, they are purposeful and sustainable when it comes to lifespan and material.
Climate smart office
In Stockholm, we are proud to have our premises in Mästerhuset, a leading building in sustainable construction. Together with the property owner Pembroke, all tenants are committed long-term with environmental work. Mästerhuset is Stockholm City’s first LEED* certified office building at Platinum level, the highest level of environmental certification within the certification system. LEED is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. This means that the building is at the forefront in terms of sustainable design, building technology and operation.
In the fall of 2019, our office in Malmö moved to the Epic property, which is the first office building in the Nordic region with pre-certificates according to WELL, and also a certification from LEED. WELL is based on how the constructed environment can support human health, well-being and productivity. Parts of the building consist of locally upcycled materials, that is refined and recycled building materials. By using upcycled materials, long transports can be prevented, and the climate impact is reduced through local recycling.
