On 30 January, Elisabeth Eklund, Partner, Delphi will join leading international experts at the second edition of  the European Foreign Direct Investment Associations (EUFDI) Conference in Brussels to discuss the evolving landscape of foreign direct investments (FDI). The panel where she will speak highlights the growing regulatory focus on state-backed investors participating in private equity transactions – an area that has become increasingly complex and strategically sensitive.

Sovereign wealth funds are playing a larger role in global PE deals, and their involvement often prompts heightened scrutiny from regulators around the world. This panel will explore the national security and control considerations that arise when sovereign capital enters GP/LP structures. The discussion will address the key factors that tend to draw regulatory attention, including board seats, information access, veto rights and exposure to sensitive sectors.

Attendees will gain practical guidance on navigating regulatory requirements while maintaining the commercial integrity of the transaction. The session will conclude with actionable best practices for structuring deals involving sovereign investors, drawing on recent case studies and evolving regulatory expectations.

With extensive experience in competition law, FDI matters and broad regulatory experience , she offers valuable perspectives from both ett svenskt and broader European context.
