Delphi advisor to VR Group in the acquisition of MTR Express

Delphi has assisted VR Group in connection with the acquisition of MTR Express (Sweden) AB (“MTRX”).

VR Group is a Finnish railway company and a major operator in the Finnish public transport market. Through the acquisition of MTRX, VR Group will expand its operations in the Swedish passenger transport market from regional contracted services to long-distance traffic and strengthen its position in the Swedish market. MTRX have been operating long-distance traffic in the Swedish market since 2015, particularly between Stockholm and Gothenburg. When the acquisition is completed, MTRX will be part of VR Group’s long-distance traffic operations.

The transaction requires approval from the Swedish Competition Authority, which is expected by the end of May.
